Sunday Sunset Music Series Featuring Grand Ole Opry Thumb Picker, Shane Adkins
Blackacre’s 3rd annual Sunday Sunset Music Series is back! We will have four performances. Each featuring a different of music style that originated in Kentucky including jug music, thumb picking, and bluegrass. We will also have country music one weekend – after all Kentucky loves country!
Kicking off Blackacre’s Sunday Sunset Music Series, is Grand Ole Opry performer and international thumb picking winner, Shane Adkins. He has won the International “Home of the Legends” Thumbpicking Contest in Muhlenberg County, KY and the International Fingerstyle Guitar Championship. Shane was the opening act for Lee Greenwood and Loretta Lynn. His musical approach reflects his admiration for legendary musicians such as Merle Travis, Chet Atkins, and Doc Watson.
Bring your blankets and chairs and enjoy our music on the shaded lawn. The 1792 barn serves as the stage backdrop and offers a spectacular sunset view. Explore the grounds and enjoy feeding the farm animals along the fence line. Food and merchandise available.
