Camps

Our various day camps offer a unique environment to explore Blackacre’s natural habitat while providing meaningful and lasting connections with other campers.   Plus, each child will receive a super-cool camp t-shirt when they sign up!   Early camp registration opens for members on January 6, 2025; January 13th for the general public. 

Add-ons:

NEW Lunch Plan Add-on:   Mon: Chicken Nuggets Tues.: Meat & Cheese or PBJ Sandwich, Wed: Chicken Nuggets Thursday: Hot Dog Friday: Pizza.  Lunch comes with choice of chips, Gogurt or fruit. Plus Water or juice.

Snack Plan Add-on: Choice of Two Snacks a Day. 

In the event that snow days impact the first week camp (Exploration), the dates for that week will be shortened accordingly, and a credit will be issued for the number of days missed.

Exploration Camp

Exploration Camp focuses on discovering the wonders of nature! Campers will experience a variety of interactive explorations on the preserve. They will become scientists investigating our ecosystem including the diversity of animals, plants and microorganisms.  Other activities include photography, crafts, team building activities and time with our farm animals. It’s a week of fun, adventure and discovery.  Campers will get to see up close and learn about fascinating species and their habitats.

Minecraft Camp (June 9-12) 

This camp is perfect for kids who love Minecraft or are ready to take their skills to the next level. Campers will explore Blackacre’s 300-acre preserve, learning about nature and building physical worlds as a team. In the computer lab, they’ll design and map out their own Minecraft version of Blackacre. On the final day, everyone presents their world, and the best design wins a prize!  Campers are to bring your Nintendo Switch or call to reserve an iPad with the Minecraft app (limited quantities available). Minecraft’s small class sizes make it easy to form lasting friendships!

Wee Explorers 1/2 day Camp 

Is your child new to day camp? This half-day camp is the perfect introduction! Over the course of five days, young adventurers will explore nature through engaging hikes, crafts, and open play. They’ll help hatch chickens, tend to the garden, embark on hiking adventures to Froggy Forest Cave, and explore the fascinating ecosystems of Blackacre’s ponds. Each camper will even receive their very own walking stick, a cherished keepsake from their adventures. Blackacre offers the ideal setting for children to connect with nature, spark curiosity, and make new friends.

Age: 5-6

Date options: June 9-13 or June 23-27

Time: 9:00 – 12:00

Cost: $150 per week

Surving the Wild; Pioneer Camp (June 16-20) 

Who were one of the bravest survivalists? Pioneers! Campers will engage in hands-on activities that bring 18th history to life. They’ll care for farm animals, churn butter, tend the garden, taste fresh seasonal vegetables, and make a pioneer item (based on grade level i.e, weaving, buttermaking, corn husk doll).  One special day, they’ll meet 18th-century pioneers who will share with them what it was like to survive and live in the wilderness.  Camp includes nature hikes, crafting, barn exploration, and building their own pioneer fort. Through fun, games, and survival skills, campers will create lasting friendships and leave with a sense of accomplishment.

NEW Teen Explorer Camp (July 8-11) 

Push your limits, build confidence, and develop essential life skills! This camp offers advanced lessons, challenging hikes, and team-building activities like rappelling, orienteering, horse grooming, and fishing. Perfect for teens looking to grow, explore, and make new friends.

Little Sprouts half-day camp offers the ultimate forest school experience. In this serene, open-air classroom, trees take the place of walls. Grass and dirt cover the area like a beautiful carpet. Trails become endless journeys and wonderful experiences for children. 

Maximum group size: 10

Age: 3-4

Cost: $150

Children must be fully potty-trained.
