Invasive Species Control Workday

Join the Blackacre Invasive Species Control Strike Team and Office of Kentucky Nature Preserves for a morning of hands-on conservation! We’ll work together to remove invasive plants that threaten the health of Blackacre’s woodlands. No experience needed — we’ll provide guidance, tools, supplies, and snacks!

Why It Matters:
Non-native plants like bush honeysuckle and autumn olive spread quickly and crowd out native species. By removing them, we help restore healthy habitat for wildlife and encourage native plants and trees to thrive.
